The cowrie shell is a well known and loved shell. In the larger shells it is used as an instrument to summon, and in small sizes, long ago, as currency. As an adornment in jewellery, clothing and even weaponry, the cowrie has graced the annuals of history as it was made. A beautiful and versatile shell!
